Duties vs outcomes: rewriting weak CV bullets

The fastest way to lift a CV is to turn duty statements into outcomes. Most CVs are full of the former; recruiters are looking for the latter.

Spot the duty bullet

'Responsible for managing social media' describes the job, not your impact. Most 'responsible for' lines are duties in disguise.

Add the result

Ask: what happened because I did this? 'Grew the social following from 2k to 9k in a year' is an outcome.

Use a simple structure

Action plus what you did plus result. Keep it to one readable line where you can.

Lead each role with its strongest outcome

Don't bury the best bullet at the bottom of a role.

Some duties can stay

A little context is fine; just don't let a whole CV be a list of responsibilities with no results.
