Operations manager CV guide

Operations roles are about making things run better. A good operations CV shows scale, process improvement and people leadership with evidence.

Quantify the operation

Team size, sites, volumes, budgets. Give the reader a sense of the scale you've managed.

Lead with improvement

Operations is judged on efficiency and outcomes. 'Redesigned the returns process, cutting handling time by 30%' beats 'responsible for operations'.

Show people leadership

Hiring, developing and managing teams, with brief evidence of impact - not just headcount.

Cover systems and process

Reference the tools and frameworks you've used - lean, ERP systems - where genuinely relevant.

Keep it outcome-led

Every section should answer 'so what changed?'
